M.Phil and Masters degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. Has worked in the national news media for seven years. Tracks and follows with avid interest the interactions among communication, media and journalism within the framework of an effective democracy. Is keen on film studies too.
She has Seven- year experience in reportage for the national media from New Delhi, through newspapers (The Observer, The Hindu ), magazines ( The Week, Down to Earth) and online media covering social, economic and political affairs.
She has Travelled throughout the county extensively, covering issues of survival, livelihood, social transformation, women rights, environment and disasters in the hinterland and served as a media consultant for International Development Economics Associates (IDEAs)
Recipient of Fellowship from the Centre for Studies in Developing Societies (CSDS), New Delhi to conduct a study on ‘Negotiating Citizenship’.
Recipient of Fellowship from the National Foundation of India (NFI), New Delhi to document the lives and experiences of people in Assam during floods.
Is recipient of Ph.D Fellowship from Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR)
Contributing author to an anthology titled “September 11, 2001: Feminist Perspectives”, Spinifex Press, Australia.
